Domo Plays Malifaux!

After hearing the whisperings around the ‘net about this game, and then having a couple of my regular wargaming podcasts do Malifaux focused episodes I finally decided to take a look and see what all the fuss was about. Before taking the plunge I did my research into it and watched some youtube videos to see the mechanics in action to make sure it was something I could agree with. After then getting the opportunity to read a bit of the rulebook (including the lovely short fluff stories interspersed throughout) I went and ordered everything I would need to host a starter game between me and a brother. This was the Rulebook, 2 starter boxes (Lady Justice and Lilith) and 2 fate decks (slightly modified and Malifaux branded, but otherwise just normal decks of cards). I then ordered another starter box (Nicodem), as I got a freebie model in the Lilith box that I could not use without a Resurrectionist force. Darn. :P

A while ago me and my brother decided we would play the largest game that we sensibly could play on a 6×4 table. We actually managed to extend the table a further 2″ for an approximate 8×4, but kind of ironically we did not venture that far along the table beyond a small squad of mine to secure an objective.

As this game was a while ago, I am afraid that I cannot provide a detailed battle report, but I have uploaded and captioned (most of) the photos taken from the game :) Please “Read More” to have a look-see :)

Infinity Vs Bristol Big’uns

Today, me and Ian from The Exeter Inquisition were invited up to the Bristol Big’uns for a couple of games of Infinity. Our opponents were Liam and Nick (I faced them in this order and Ian vice versa obviously :P ) Look after the break for pics and a brief write-up of sorts :)

Apocalypse Report

Last Tuesday, an event was held at the Exeter Inquisition that pitted the Forces of the Imperium against the Dark Angels in a huge 15000 point game spread over three tables. I was lucky enough to take part in this, and shared a table with another member of the club in a doubles game. (Warning – Very photo intense!)

Not quite a Bat-Rep

Good afternoon! and today I have not quite a bat-rep for you (mainly because I forgot to take pictures or make a note of what happened turn to turn). The motivation for this game was an upcoming tournament in August being held in Cardiff. Before I decide one way or another, I wanted to get a feel for the size of games played at the tournament (1750pts) and whether or not I could field a reasonable list at this size without creating too much work for myself (as it is, I have to finish painting and then base everything in the list!!). After the break you will find the list I played and a couple of high lights from the match against my brother, who fielded the Chaos Space Marines.

Now that I have regained my sense of balance / taste and can now focus my eyes beyond the 4′ distance, I can unequivocally state that I have just recovered from one of my most fun weekends in recent history! Anyone who has decided to keep an eye on my gallery page will have already noticed the pictures arriving (and hopefully checked through them too!). My buddy Nick, over at RaneProjects.com has already made a decent write up of the event if you want to check that, but if you are too lazy, just read more ;)

As a prelude to a blind doubles tournament coming up on Tuesday at the Exeter Inquisition club, I decided to take my chosen 750pts worth of Blood Angles and just pit them against an unsuspecting victim to see how they fared standing on their own two feet. The results were quite shocking!
